FN-TEXT-002: In TEXT, an @ applied to a number gives the General display, not the full number

Quirk · measured · recorded 2026-11-04

A format of @ or @! on a number gives what General gives, not the digits of the number. TEXT(123456789012345,"@") is 1.23457E+14 and TEXT(1234567890.5,"@") is 1234567891. A quoted @ is a literal: TEXT(x,"""@""") is @ for a positive x, and -@ for a negative one, because the ordinary sign rule applies. In a format with four sections, @ is the text section and numbers use the others: TEXT(123456789012345,"0;0;0;@") shows all 15 digits, and TEXT(-123456789012345,"0;0;0;@") shows them with no minus sign, because the second section has none.
